Juliana Lindell

The artist that inspired my tea set was Kate MacDowell. Some of her inspirations include organs, human body parts, and nature. Although these ideas can be construed as creepy, MacDowell manages to construct them with elegance and class. This may be attributed to the fact that she sculpts with porcelain and rarely mars this pristine medium with glaze. Unlike MacDowell I did use glaze, my tea set will not emit the same type of delicacy that MacDowell’s does. But her admirable work has inspired me throughout the entire process of creating and sculpting my tea set, especially in constructing my teapot form.
